—————————— ‘tutteieesL 4j/x,- ■■■■■ SENIOR CLASS HISTORYAny Senior will tell you that he is a member of the best class in school.Four years ago this couldn t have been said, for we were a class of green Freshmen. We spent about the first month of school getting into the wrong rooms andbeing laughed at by upperclassmen. The usual initiation was held by the Sophomores, and of course they furnished the paddles while we suffered as the victims. Ice cream was served to us on a platter; but by the time we were readyto eat, or rather when we could sit down, it was melted, so we had ice creamsoup, This was really good, believe it or not. There were twenty-one of us togo through this year. Our sponsor was Mrs. Joseph Bugel.When we entered our sophomore year we had only seventeen members.During the year, Christina Hartsock withdrew to go to Brownsburg High School,and Lester Wooes entered from Nashville High School. Thomas Hardy, EasterPelley, and Bonnie Wilber were elected class officers. Floyd Christie and Dorcas Richardson were our sponsors. The great event of this year was a partywhich was held at Morgan-Monroe State Park. Catherine Young, Barbara Davies,Bonnie Wilber, Mary Bell, and JoAnne Richardson were selected by Mrs. Neal tohelp out with the Junior Play, “Cinderella Rose’’.We started our junior year with fifteen members. Mrs. Richardson was oursponsor. Thomas Hardy was again elected as our class President. Philip Wamplerwas our Vice-President, and Stella Young was our Secretary and Treasurer. BivianRichardson re-entered school and our class at the beginning of the year. During thisyear Stella Young, Barbara Davies, and Helen Moore withdrew. We ordered our clasrings in October, 1944, and received them the following April, the last day of school.During the spring of 1945 we had a party at Yellow Wood Lake. Everything wentfine until we missed the boys. Nothing had been said about it while planning the party, but the boys had run off by themselves and went swimming in one of the shallow |
