Description: CLASS PROPHECYAllow me to tell you of my dream on the eve of graduation. Unless you are a firm believer in dreams, you wont enjoy the prophecy as you should. As I first began to slumber I had a Vision of riding in a TWA passenger plane. Barbara Britton, thestewardess, was bringing hot chocolate to me. As I turned to accept it I recognized Danny Bowman sitting beside me. We began to discuss old times and classmates. Danny said, I heard that Don Headdyand Richard McNeal have their engineering degrees and are now working on a new highway in Alaska.I guess Jackie Valentine is doing pretty well for himself, too. Hes head barber at the Greenfield BarberShop now. I thought to myself that the boys are doing well.Do you know if many of the girls are married?Well, Ive been corresponding with Judy Taylor and shes been keeping me informed of those marriedand so forth. Ann Davis and June Snodgrass have both been married for four years. They havent anychildren yet, so they still have their careers. Ann is working as secretary to one of the lawyers in Bloomington and June is County Home Demonstration Agent at Purdue. Judy Terrell and Cena Turpin are married, have families, and moved to California to live. Nancy Morrison who has two little girls now, moved last year, to South Dakota to raise her family. Glora Wampler was married about three years ago andsoon after had to move to Colorado for her health. Wilma Ferguson finally moved back to Texas andsoon, as luck would have it, met her husband.Since youve been writing Judy, I imagine shes told you all about Charlie Kellers Real Estate Agency in Indianapolis. Charlie told me he hired her as his private secretary, remarked Dan.Shes mentioned it in her letters several times. Did you know that Mary Ann McKee was running aNursing Home now?Yes, I ran into Sara Figg the other day and she said she was working for Mary Ann on the day shift. The Home was only a small one when she started, but people kept coming in till she finally built on,and hired regular nurses. You havent told me about your brother Don. Whats he doing now?I guess he and Robert Stines are the only ones who are still in college. Don is studying law at U.C.L.A. and Robert is studying to be a scientist in one of the Universities in Missouri.Have you read Hazel Hughes new novel Luck Isnt Enough? No, I havent had a chance yet, but I plan to. It sounds very interesting.Sounds to me like Laymon Williams has an interesting job. Hes working for the F.B.I, in Washington D.C.Yes, I wouldnt mind having a job like his. Well, it looks like were about to land.Sure enough we were finally nearing home. After the plane landed Barbara, Dan, and I hailed acab and were overjoyed to find Howard Payton driving. Everyone gave Howard his address and wasshocked to find that we were going to the same place. We all began talking at once and before we knew it we had reached our destination, the reunionthat Duane Moore and his wife were giving for the class of 58.The reunion was a complete success for all 26 of the classmates were together again. As time forthe plane back to Florida drew near, Danny, Linda Frye and I said Goodbye to everyone, thankedour host and hostess and departed. Because Barbara had a two weeks vacation, Linda was to be our stewardess on the return trip.Settling ourselves near the front of the plane, Dan and I resumed our conversation. We discussedeverything that had happened at the party.Danny, weve been so busy talking about everyone else that I completely forgot to ask you aboutyourself. What has the past years done for you?Well, I joined the Navy about three years ago and worked my way up to 2nd Class Petty Officer.Im stationed in Puerto Rico for the time being, but Im leaving for the South Pacific next January. What are you doing in Florida, Nancy. For the past eight years Ive been studying medicine and finally received my degree last June. Imsetting up my office now and next month Janet Gillaspy is flying down to be my head nurse. Janet hashad quite a bit of experience and I feel she will fill the opening very well. The plane was just landing in Miami, when I heard Mothers voice very weak but clear yelling,Nancy, Nancy Ive called you my last time!On awakening it was hard for me to realize that it had all been a dream. Even though it had beena dream I knew one thing was for sure. If my classmates did as well in real life as they had in mydream they would make everyone very proud.Nancy Ellen LivingstonDanny Lee Bowman
