razzzz^zzzzzzzzz^^A SAFE LANDINGwillIn the yearfifty-six greeneager and readyWe wish to express our sincere thanks to ourpilots, Mr. Lampkins and Mr. Botkin, and all our otherofficers for helping us make a safe landing.Mr. Quckenbush, had been replaced by new ones;pilot, Mr. Lampkins, had taken charge and fourmembers had been added to the officers. Althoughschedule was a very different one, our last yearvery pleasant.Now we are at the end of our four year coursewith a crew of thirty-eight seniors. Our flightbe ended when we reach the landing field called’’Commenc ement ”.nineteen hundred and thirty-six, weFreshmen climbed into an airplane,for our flight to Commencement Day.During the previous year while we were yet in theeighth grade a great storm^ the burning of our schooldestroyed our old plane and we were forced to takeoff from the K of P Hall, the old depot, and the Gymnasium. Of course we!ll admit that this was not thelatest thing in the line of modern planes, but withthe efficient Mr. Botkin at the controls, we made asafe landing at the end of the first lap of ourjourney.When v/e again went aboard the plane, still theold one, for the second hop of our journey, one officer, Mrs. Endwright, had been replaced by Mrs, Tris-ler. During our Sophomore hop the construction ofour new plane, the new school house, was begun, andour pilot informed us that unless some thing unexpected came up we could use it the next year inwhich to continue our journey.On reaching our old Landing field for our thirdtrip, we found our new plane waiting to take off. r«Deckard had replaced Mr. Hill, and a new member, Mr.Heckman had been added to the officers. The highlights of our Junior flight were the Junior play,Hold Everything, and the lunior-Senior ReceptionOn the last hop of our flight all of our oldofficers, except three, Mrs. Deckard, Mr. Sargent,andnewnewthea |
