Smithville High School, The Searchlight, 1963, Page 6

Description: rFplanning CurriculaFor five years Mr. Chuckney has efficently headed our school as principal. In this day and age of rapid change in technology and the mass of information which hasaccumulated, one can justifiably become frightened at the necessity of competing in this complex world. There are many keys to success in life and many choices that can be made inselecting your lifes work. But, to avoid confusion and frustration, each individual must seriously consider his selection of a vocation. This, to me, is an all important foundation; beselective in your quest for your place in this society. The knowledge you have accumulatedin the last twelve years will hardly be directly applicable to most job situations, but thisknowledge will help you determine your selection. Your education has given you a broaderbase on which to found this selection. Furthering your education beyond high school will giveyou an even broader foundation on which to make this choice. Wisdom and experience arenot guaranteed with age, so you must constantly be on the alert to grasp every opportunity thatcomes your way.Good luck to the class of 1963. I sincerely hope the foundations you have formed here atSmithville High School, during the last twelve years will, in some measure, contribute to yourfuture success.Louis A. Chuckney, Principal
