Description: 9/23/99:Jen Weiss, from Heartwood, visits Helenas classHS goes to the landfill againFall Equinox Celebration in the Middle SchoolOn September 23rd, some middle school girls put onsheets as Greek togas. Soon the fad caught on, and bythe end of the school day there were 11 people in Greekapparel. The toga-wearers shared a festive lunch ofhomemade bread, peppers, plums, apples, butter andjam. Why were they draped in sheets? you may ask.For those of you who arent aware of this, the 23rd ofSeptember is the Fall Equinox, the first day of fall.That morning I called Fiona and told her to come toschool wearing a toga. Surprisingly enough, sherefused, saying she would do it only if Safia, Carrie,and I did too. So, I called Safia and Carrie and theysaid they would if the rest of us did too. I called Fionaback and told her to bring lots of sheets. I speedilybaked a loaf of bread and threw some sandwichingredients and fruits and veggies in a basket and gotsome sheets as well.
