Surely thechildren who became these people never wishedto be a history professor, a car mechanic, or aplant inspector!To attempt to answer this question, Iwanted to ask around my school what childrenin grades ECP-12 would like for futureprofessions. Sadly, I was forced to use onlymiddle schoolers in my study due to timeconstraints. Nonetheless, I came up with somevery interesting results.I realize that it may seem a little strangethat I am writing about something souncontroversial as the recognition of futureprofessions, but remember, this is U, not theNew York Times !I received many answers of marinebiologist from those who I asked. I find thisvery interesting. Why should such a seeminglyinconspicuous profession become so popular? I |
