During the year of 1934 and 35,the seventh grade was removed from the assembly because of crowded conditions. It was also necessary to hire another teacher. Through our school officials and board members a propositionwas made to construct a new gymnasium. Under the leadership of Principal H. C. Weathers and the cooperation of Trustee, Charles Freeman, theschool year has been more than successful and has made a record which cannot be erased.WELL WISHESGoodbye! the old desk whisperedWhen I cleaned my papers out.Good luck! the schoolroom murmuredAs I went my way about.Have courage! spoke the blackboard. And I thanked it for its words ;It knew the battle I had had withFourths and fifths and thirds.Forget-me-not, the aged doorCreaked as I went through. The end has come ! I answered,Looking up at skies of blue. But at that moment Times clear voiceWas added to the fun :Oh, no! he said. Its not the end—Your life has just begun.19 3 5
