Description: CLASS PROPHESYTwenty Years Show Changes in Class of 41The Year is 1961.—The scene is the lofty halls of E. H. S once so proud and beautiful, but nowdirty from the countless feet of generations of wild graduates. In these familiarcorridors have assembled for a grand reunion all the members of the great graduating class of 1941 they who wrere once so lively and full of the joyful spiritsof youth, but now aged and grey; how they have changed!!! Many of them arefamous, and some, alas, are still untouched by fame; but all have done their bitto bring honor and glory to their Alma Mater. The first member of the class that we see, however, isnt such a good example. Thatsmooth, slinky gal with the big blue eyes is June Evans, world famous actress andformer understudy to Ann Sheridan.Along with her we see the notorious gangster and confidence man, Norris Crismore, who has just been released from a federal penitentiary. The President reprieved hisexecution just in time for him to be with us today. That badly-mangled man hurrying in late (as usual) is the widely known and hissedlabor agitator, Melvin Dusty Taylor. Dusty is the chief organizer of a unionwhich advocates a ten-hour week at five dollars an hour. He has just been attackedby anti-union men, he informs us.Ah!! Here comes Hubert Goble, head of the Gobles Academy of Promising Maidens of the South Seas. Hubert says he chose the South Seas as that is the only placewhere he could be interested to stay more than a year. And there is the well-known Jean Hendricks, author of the play, Aunt JemimasPancakes, in which she plays the leading role of the pancakes. It is said she nevermarried as she is still waiting for the shoe-cobbling business to pick up.Violet Oliver, who because of a broken heart has remained single, is said to beoperating a hospital for sick pets and wild drivers. Those who know her will say sheshould make a most understanding nurse. We are honored by the presence of none other than Ralph Kelley, daring big gamehunter who has just returned home from a hunting trip in darkest Africa. He camehome with three mosquito bites, four parrots, and a grass skirt. The expedition wasa great success, he tells us.And theres our quiet little Roselean Abbitt; she is employed as an air stewardessfor T. W. A. She always was quiet and shy in her school days, but she was obtainingplenty of knowledge.Of course we see Hubert Frame, famous baseball player, at present playing firstbase for the New York Yankees. Hubert was one of the first members of the. classto fall under the strings of matrimony. However, he has lived through it quite successfully.Bernice Bruce, is still studying her books; she is trying to obtain more degrees inschool. She is now a professor and says she is still going higher. We rather hate to mention this person, but we see Bus Middleton over in thecorner. Bus is well known to the boys in the local poolroom, and occasionally hespends a day or two in the County jail. Beat it Bus if you see two men in blueuniforms coming in the door!!!There is Dorothy Deane Schaadt who, they say, is having quite a time getting usedto the quiet faculty life she is leading after her wild and reckless days in high school.Nevertheless, she is quoted as saying, If the dear Professor can stand it, I can.Page Twenty-two
