The parts were well portrayed by the respective members of the cast. Although notexceedingly humorous, the plot was one which commanded undivided attention.SOPHOMORESOn Saturday, October 21, 1932, the Sophomore class entertained guests at a Halloween party.The evening was spent in playing games which were enjoyed by everyone. Prizes were awarded to thebest masked persons at the party. Refreshments of pumpkin pie with whipped cream, apples, andcocoa were served.SPELLING BEEFebruary 25, 1933, a county grade spelling bee was held at Ellettsville High School, sponsoredby Mr. W. B. Harris, Sr.Ellettsville was represented by the five best spellers in the grades. They were Mary FrancesCurry, Maxine Brown, Mary Alice Eads, Donald Foxworthy, and Cozine Weathers.BETTY LOUBettv Lou, an operetta in three acts, was given Feb. 8 and 9 by the High School Chorus. Themodern setting of the story was cleverly laid. Betty Lou, an extravagant, charming young lady, discovers a delightful way in which to save her family from financial ruin. On that day the boys and girls were cleverly dressed in the colors green freshies shouldwear. The additional pink color made them think that spring was surely here. They enjoyed the dayvery much and were complimented by their superiors. April 1 ended the great event for this wasthe date of the banquet which will be long remembered.Page Thirty |
