Whilein Germany the students stayed withhost families. The host familiesprovided them with a place to sleepand inside knowledge of the country.German teacher Frau Norris saidthat the students were tired whenthey first arrived because of the longride over, but they when they arrived,they were amazed to see everyonespeaking German.Junior Dedra Bennett had a hostfamily that consisted of 4 children.Bennett said they were really niceand she loved being with them.Theoldest children spoke English wrhilethe youngest child did not.I started to tear up when I hadto say goodbye to my host familybecause I knew I w^ould miss thembecause they were really sweet,Bennett said.Sophomore Katy Williams notonly got to experience Germany, butshe also had the opportunity visit theNetherlands too, which included aboat ride on the river that ranthrough the city, shopping, and lunchon the river.My favorite part was getting to goto the Netherlands. My host familytook me there and I personally got toexperience a canoe ride through theNetherlands and see all the littleshops there, Williams said.___ |
