Description: setting goalsNot just talent drives the South boys tennis team,The South boys tennis teamachieved much during the2017 season. The boyspracticed everyday,competed in meets, andworked out in order toperform to their highestabilities. Although talent wasvital to their success, it wasequally necessary for theathletes to set both individualand group goals for theseason in order to establishexpectations and helpplayers stay focused on whatthey wanted to achieve.Sophomore AndrewChang said his main goal wasto make varsity and stay on(that team) throughout theseason. This season wasespecially exciting for Changas it was his first year on theteam. Although nerve rackingat times, the experience wasoverall positive for him and heenjoyed both the sport andthe team dynamics.Group goals are equallyas important as individualgoals since they set a teamstandard that every memberstrives to meet. Junior CarsonConrad said that the athleteswanted to get better, havea good record, and beatNorth. Due to theirtremendous hard work anddetermination, the boys tennisteam met most of their groupgoals and they all improvedsubstantially.Each individual player onthe team had different tacticsin place to achieve the goalsthey worked for during theentire the season.
