Description:	The volleyball athletesdetermination and skillallowed the team to have a successful season,dig deeperSouths volleyball teamworked tremendously hard tobring home wins for thePanthers this season and wasvictorious in many of theirgames.The group startedcompeting in August, and, asa result of their practice andeffort, they were able to winearly on in their seasonagainst schools such asEdgewood and Linton-Stockton. We started offplaying (very well) in the preseason, and then (we werechallenged) when we playedsome really hard tournamentsagainst Providence andCathedral (duringsectionals), senior GraceBland said.Although thesetournaments were the mostdifficult matches Southplayed during the season, thetough competition improvedthe skill and teamwork of thethe athletes by challengingthem to play at a higher skilllevel.The volleyball teamcontinued to play againstother teams such asSouthport, Terre Haute, andOwen Valley, which resultedin more victories for South.Bland said that the seasonwent incredibly well,considering the (fairly young)team and the competition wefaced. The team continuedto practice and improvethroughout the year, whichallowed them to finish theirseason by placing first in theirconference. For the South volleyball team,this achievement did not come without hard work, dedication and amultitude of talent from every member of the group. For the seniors,this victory was just as exciting as it was bittersweet due to the eventoccurring during their final season on the team.
