Description:	SEXUAL ABUSESCANDALDEC 15,2016In a nine month investigationconducted by the Indy Star, itwas revealed that over 300 USgymnasts have been allegedvictims of sexual abuse in thelast two decades. The accusedabusers included over 100coaches, gym owners, andadults connected to gymnastics.The Indy Star has also reportedthat the USA Gymnastics has notbeen properly monitoringpredatory coaches, essentiallyallowing them to quietly leavetheir job when their victimsspeak out, and they simply moveto another gym and be allowedto continue to have contact withyoung athletes.PHOTO COURTESY OFCREATIVE COMMONSWe knew a club coach andcompeted with his girls whowere sexually abused. Although she performed incredibly well inevery event, beam was truly her best event. V.Mcgibbon competes on bars. VI. Kawanishicompetes on beam. VII. Junior Ashlyn Demosscompetes on bars.
