PHOTOSCOURTESY CINDY KVALEJunior Amanda Lin explains the details of onecomponent of the underwater Sea Perch competition:racing the robots through a series of rings.The vertical rings are easier to maneuver the robot throughbecause there are two motors for pushing the robot forward andbackward, as opposed to one pushing it up and down.The horizontal rings are harder because the wire connected tothe robot requires us to move the robot in and out of the ring thesame wayWe try to finish [the race] under 30 seconds. It is stressfulbecause the race is so short and one mistake adds time. |
