Getting a special date, eating a gourmet dinner, dancing thenight away, then staying out until the crack of dawn - these were allthe things that excited us. But, choosing what to wear was what manyprom-goers relished! In fact, the chance to dress in formal attire iswhat made some choose to attend prom. Junior Charles Ray said hechose to go to prom simply because he wanted to wear a tux. Heliked wearing a tuxedo so much that he even wore it around the housethe next day, before the magic ended and he had to return it to theformal wear shop.Like many prom-goers Ray was impressed with the New Yorktheme and the elaborate decorations. Junior Advisory Board wasthe group to thank for proms fabulous decor, theme and generalambiance. With the leadership of its adviser, Mrs. Beth Smith this yearsprom swept us away to a fabulous night in Manhattan. Junior JenWinston, boards vice-president, said, There are NO limits to the themeyou want to have...Pick the theme that sounds the coolest! For some prom-goers a special date made the evening perfect, but others chose to go with a group for maximum prom fun. I likedgoing with a group of people because I didnt want to be stuck withone person the entire evening. I had a lot of fun with my friends, saidjunior Kala Zorn.Charles Ray also chose to go as a part of a group. They had funand really enjoyed their dinner together at Chapmans Restaurant. Thegroup ended up at a friends house after the prom and continued thedancing into the night.A few South students faced a dilemma - whether to attend theirown prom, or go with a special friend attending the North prom, whichwas again this year happening on the same night - across town.
