Description: Thats So FiveMinutes **»By Allie BierhausId be a trend setter if people would follow my styles, saidfreshman Emily Deckard. I usually try to stay away from the infads. Deckard has tried to veer away from what is called cool. She usually makes her clothes, and if buying clothes becomes anoption then Deckard buys from a vintage store. On the other hand, there are a lot of students at South whodo try to follow the trends. Junior Megan Johnson is a trendyperson. Im too scared to start my own trends, and I like to gowith whats cool, Johnson said. I would describe my lookas being casual, comfortable, and simple. I dont really dressoutside the box.Since men generally dress alike, their individual style is noteasily noticeable. Senior Dustin Eads is an exception to that rule.Eads said he carries a satchel bag and wears girl pants. I dress tokeep warm and not to flaunt. I never wear shorts, because I haveskinny white legs that I dont feel like showing off everyday, saidEads.Students like Eads who care about keeping up with trendshave the burden of figuring out what will and wont be trendynext season. I personally hate UGG boots. I think they are UGG-ly, said Johnson. I dont think that the pant in the boot look willbe in style next year.I always look forward to civil war outfits-jackets with a lotof buttons. It seems like whatever I like is in style the next year, said Deckard. This year the clothes with seam rips are in andmaybe next year quality will be in instead, said Deckard.Eads predicts that all of the people dying their hair black willbe out next year, along with all of the emo-scene haircuts, but wellhave to wait until next year to see if these trends are really in orout.(Left) Junior girls andyearbook staffersthrow up the peacesign while posing fora photograph withmud masks on at asleepover.
