84666The people at Bloomington High School South were whatgave our school flavor and color. The diversity of students and thevariety of faculty kept South interesting every day. The students areall unique in their own way. It makes for an interesting environment, said junior Soren Zajmi. Although Zajmi has lived in Bloomington for12 years, he adds to the diversity at South. His family is from Albania, and he occasionally speaks his native language at home. With 448 freshmen this year, the hallways were burstingwith new people and inexperienced students. The halls were morecrowded and there were a lot of new faces, Zajmi commented aboutthe freshmen. But alongside the freshmen was the seasoned class of2007, anxious for May to arrive. For some seniors the wait until May was too long. This year66 seniors graduated early, a number abnormally large for South. For senior Hannah Root, this idea sounded fun and relaxing. I didnthave any more academic classes I needed to take, and I wanted to takea long break, Root stated. Root said the trimester off, calmed medown a lot. It made me a lot less stressed about college .While working at Wet Seal during this trimester off, Root decided she wouldattend Purdue to further her education. In a school of 1,775 students, it seems that it would be easyto get lost and to be forgotten in the crowd. South provided studentsmany opportunities for academic excellence, or simply for beingthemselves that it was easy to carve out an identity. Whether it wasbeing on national television or just doing his best, every person madean impact on South this year, and no one will be forgotten.Atbum 3c$8)^ w Atbum |
