Being in an uncommon or weird class helps me to always beinvolved in the work and enables me to be successful in the class, said Taylor.Even teachers get satisfaction out of these types of assignments. In general,having students produce these hands-on activities opens up the socialatmosphere, said Mrs. Karen Banach, English. It develops a good relationship togo along with the learning.Of course there are the classes in which one would expect to do unusual work.However, when an abnormal assignment is part of a strictly academic class, itcreates a more lively and energetic learning environment. Weird assignments are agreat way to get creative juices flowing, and they also develop interest in the class,said senior Patrick Hillenburg.Being in school for six and a half hours every day can seem like a drag, but when ateacher gives assignments that make the class more interesting and fun, it becomesmore enjoyable.(Above:) Freshman Amanda Utnage, junior Whitney Stancovic, and freshman AndrewWoollacott work to construct a sentence in Spanish class.
