While the rest of the school is slaving over math tests, science labs,and homework (that has mysteriously gone missing minutes before it is due), somestudents escaped routine.The annual journalism class field trip to the Herald T/mesoiike across from Southgave a behind-the-scenes glimpse at the journalistic and printing processes. [Wetook this trip] to learn more about how newspapers were run, said FreshmanQuincy Harrison. Harrison and freshman Betsy Head, students in Ms. Kathleen Millsjournalism class enjoyed the trip. While Harrison was surprised by the size of theprinting press, Head realized that.. .there are actually people writing the stories.Another field trip was taken this year by Ms. Elizabeth Von Buchlers FilmLiterature class. They went to the Indiana Repertory Theatre (IRT) to see A ChristmasCarol, which they had been studying in class. The class had watched other versionsof the Dickens classic in class, and wanted to compare. Sophomore Amanda Hartmansaid, We learned how to analyze things in different types of ways.
