It is very rewardingto know that I helped the studentsthrough the day, Fipps said, andits a good feeling to noticeimprovements in each of thestudents.Being a peer tutor isnt all fun andgames, however. An effective peertutor has to be outgoing, able towork well with others and be verypatient and flexible to be successfulin this job, Richardson said. JuniorBrittney Deckard agrees, Vou haveto realize that the students do havedisabilities, and cannot alwaysunderstand directions, so patienceand tolerance are important.Juniors Josh Winters and Beare Phillipsonwash dishes in the cafeteria. The studentsoften performed various tasks around school.Freshman Chico Mosora concentrates on a writing assignment with the helpof junior Charli Fipps.
