Keller was the top long jumper on theteam, and played a key role in every meet. The Unraveling:The atmosphere was tense and energetic at thebeginning of the meet, and remained so until theend. The outlook was good for Bloomington South,as sophomore Caleb Branam and senior JasonDorais brought home wins in the 400 and 800.More individual wins, such as the one by polevaulter senior Phil Wozniak caused excitement inthe crowds, but the meet remained neck-in-neck asBloomington North continued to perform well andacquire points. Near the end of the meet, sophomore Jeremy Wendell combined withsophomore Calvin White to give a crucial 1-3 finishin the high jump. The meet wasnt over, however, with the final relay, the 4x400, left to determinewho would go home the winners. Southanswered that question by a mere .3 seconds, winning the meet 69-63.The Thoughts:What was your opinion of the meet?North performed very well, but I think weshowed who was best, junior Aeron Taylor said. What was the most exciting part of the meet? The whole meet was exciting, but the finalrelay was definitely the most exciting, sophomore Jared Payne said.235 |
