Now, run tolibrary to sign up for needed equipment,distribute letter; go over PBA stuff again;committee coming at 2:30.2:40 p.m. We work until after 5:00 atwhich point I go home, fix supper, watchthe news, begin grading papers andreading story Ill teach. I fall asleep inchair at 9:30 p.m. and awake to dogs noseon my hand; put him out, find husband inhis den, chat for 10 minutes, off to bed,too tired to wash hair—tomorrow, aponytail day!10:20 p.m. In bed, alarm set—5:30 a.m.Cardis4 p.m. Off to the Encore Cafe for dinnerbefore class, which begins at 6:15 p.m.6 p.m. Arrive back at IUs School ofEducation for Dr. Ed McClellans class.Learn about the history of public schoolsafter World War II.9:15 p.m. Class finished. Head home.11:15 p.m. Receive anonymous phone calltipping me off to a planned toilet paperattack on my house set for midnight.Immediately decide to call Bloomingtonsfinest officer, Cory Grass. Officer Grassagrees to meet me at my house bymidnight. Fourth evil grin of the day ...11:50 p.m. Officer Grass and Officer JoeCrider arrive to set up dragnet for toiletpaper terrorists but leave at 12:20 becausevandals have not shown.12:30 a.m. I walk outside to discoverseveral of Souths best and brightestpreparing to deface my home and property.Upon confrontation, students hang theirheads in shame and briskly walk away,their plans foiled. Students are stopped bypolice officers but let go with a sternwarning to behave themselves. Fifth evilgrin of the day appears on my face.1 a.m. Alarm clocks set and off to bed,sweetly dreaming of once again proving toomuch for the feeble efforts of students.Berzins3:05 p.m. Straighten my classroom, cleanoff desks. Happily leave early... I donthave a lot of grading tonight. Yippeee!3:15 p.m. Stop by music store for guitarstrings. Sing to Jeff Buckley on the wayhome.3:25 p.m. Get home. Eat an ice creamsandwich. Re-string, tune crappy guitar.3:50 p.m. Attempt to play for a bit.Noodle around on keyboard a song thatsin my head.4:30 p.m. My husband wants to know ifIll come out of the room any time soon.4:45 p.m. Play with dogs for a bit. Readthe paper and the Rolling Stone andAlternative Press Ive let sit for two weeks,plus the rest of the mail, as we chatabout the day and watch Judge Judy,Jerry Springer (against my betterjudgment), Divorce Court and Seinfeld.7:30 p.m. Open up the grade book andstart grading half the photo projects whilewatching The Drew Carey Show.9 p.m. Watch the Real World... laughhysterically at Amaya while eating steakand potatoes.10 p.m. Go to bed.
