Bloomington is bigger and there are more things todo here, but most of my close friends still live in Oakridge.Q: Did you find it hard to adjust to South when you moved here? What did you do to getinvolved?A: It is easy to get involved because it is just a matter of doing what you want. Theaterespecially allowed me to make friends and feel acceptedQ: How long have you been involved in theater?A: Ive been intensively involved since I lived in Oakridge, around 14 years old. I have donea lot of acting, set construction and other things relating to theater.Q: What is the most enjoyable part of theater and acting?A: To me, the most enjoyable part is the acting itself. It is also really rewarding wheneverything comes together and we are all proud of the finished product.Q: Do you enjoy the improvisational aspect of Cletus and Virgil, or do you prefer to have ascript memorized when you are on stage?A: When you improvise, you really have to be aware and on your toes and see what goeson. Improv carries into acting because there are so many things you can do to make theperformance fresh and have a new angle. No matter the type of performance, I actuallybecome the person I am on stage. That is what makes it fun.Q: Has your involvement in theater helped you in your adjustment to South?A: It has allowed me to meet new people and feel like I was a part of the performance. When something like Charlie and the Chocolate Factory finally comes together, everyonehas a feeling of accomplishment. It is a team effort getting the performance smooth.Q: Do you see theater as a part of your future? Do you want to pursue your love for actingeven when you are out of high school?A: I dont see it as a way to make my living, but I definitely want to stay involved.146Gothic
