Description: With school responsibilities, extra-curricular activities, sportsand jobs students struggle to make time for everythingImagine leaving school at 2:30, going to theYMCA until about 4:30, then going to dancerehearsal or voice lessons, spending two orthree hours on homework, and going to sleepat 11:45 or 12:00, only to wake up the next morning at6:30 to do it all over again.This was life for junior Jean Schaffer who wasinvolved in many activities including clubs, sports andchurch activities. Schaffer mastered the art offitting everything into her ^^^^ ^ schedule. wer<Senior Patrick Jessee also had tomaster the art of time management, and credited hissuccess to his planner. Its a very important thing Icame across last year. Anything that comes up.. .1 putit in there, Jessee said.Students had different ways of organizing their timeto frt everything into their schedules. Junior Will Reed,who spent at least two hours a day at soccer practice,assessed his priorities to decide what to devote histime to. Different things are more important to methan others. My grades are important to me, so I maketime for homework. Soccers important to me, so Imake time for that, Reed said. If its not important,dont worry about it.Sophomore Dani Prince, who spent about threehours a day running for cross country or track, fit thingsin whenever she could. I do homework in the car—Iget it done whenever I can, Princesaid. Prince\\tfc*also suggested to,Take advantage of the time you get.Homework caused major stress for students whowere involved in other activities, but there were waysof dealing with it. When it gets too stressful, Ill justsort of relax, take some time for myself, Jessee said.Schaffer offered this advice for busy students:Dont over-commit yourself... Keep track of whatyoure doing and do things when you say you will, soyou dont let people down.However students chose to manage their time,Prince believed that time could be made for everythingthat you want.
