Description: Panthers break away from SouthEvery year, around thebeginning of March, the level of tension at South risesto a fever pitch. Students,teachers and staff anxiouslyawait the arrival of SpringBreak, the last long breakbefore summer. Pantherswent shopping for newclothes, made reservationsfor plane tickets and hotelrooms and packed theirsuitcases as Friday approached.Many students at Southtraveled to exotic places fortheir vacation, while othersstayed at home to catch upon their rest. Kathy Destefa-no said that she, actuallyhad fun staying in Bloomington; I also got a lot ofrest. For those studentswho couldnt visit theshores of the Atlantic, theGulf, or the slopes in Colorado, Bloomington was ahaven. I couldnt believe how quite it was, Iwork downtown and I wasshocked to see Kirkwoodalmost empty on Friday andSaturday night, said Christa Stone.Then there were the students who were whiskedaway to enjoy the atmosphere of a different locale.Every year two of the mostpopular spots were Floridaand Colorado. Scott Grissom and Scott Moonshowerwent to Ft. Meyers, Florida,where they said they sawmany people from Bloomington on the beach. Theslopes of Vail, Coloradowere seen by a few Panthers. Erin Davis and JackieForshee were just twoSouth students that spenttheir time skiing.David Woodfork and Craig Cortshit the dusty trail, headed for Panama City, Florida.Hey Shawn Waggoner, howsyour Aspen?
