Description:	Having fun with crafts and activitiesT he foreign languageclubs, French, Spanish,German, and Latin were involved in several differentactivities and projects during the 1988-89 schoolyear.The foreign languagedepartment held severalfundraisers which includedselling cookbooks,calendars, and Christmasornaments. Fundraiserswere successful and raisedenough money for futureactivities.The French club madeplans for several differentactivities for twenty students from France. The students arrived at the end ofMarch and stayed for threeweeks. The club also ateout at a French restaurantin the spring.Having fun with Spanishcrafts and activities is themain objective of theB.H.S.S. Spanish club, according to sponsor JudyMorrow. It was establishedso students could learnabout Spanish culture andbe interested in the language they are taking. Theclub recognized Christmasthis year by having a partyat which they made traditional Spanish ornamentsand had a Spanish buffet.Next year I want to getmore people involved.With more people, we cancome up with new andcreative ideas for fundraisers and trips, explainedAllison Kane, club president.Last year the Germanclub went ice skating andprepared a German breakfast. The club planned totake a travel series to Indiana University, and a tripto Germany in the summer.According to Mrs.Brushwyler, The Germanclub is a fun way for students to learn all aboutGermany. The Latin club is a wayto give Latin students achance to socialize outside of school, saidJoanne Arthur, Latin clubsponsor. The clubs mainactivity was going out toeat. Some of the favoriterestaurants included LesliesItalian Villa, The TrojanHorse, and the Cafe Piz-zaria. The club was considered by many to be agroovy after school activity.
