Description: WITH EMPHASIS ON EXERCISEAND DRILLS TOWARD SELFIMPROVEMENT, PHYSICAL ED-ucation students participated in sportsthat were enjoyable and that encouraged physical fitness.Girls gained experience in a varietyof outdoor sports, including tennis,softball, and track, as well as theindoor sports of basketball and gymnastics. Girls also bowled and wentice-skating and roller-skating at various times throughout the year.With concentration on sportsplayed for enjoyment and competition, boys PE classes participatedin the team sports of baseball andbasketball. Individual sports in thecurriculum were track, wrestling,gymnastics, bowling, and skating.Freshman PE students commutedto Bryan Park pool, where theylearned basic swimming and watersafety skills under the direction ofMr. Ed Talley.TOP: A freshman physical education classprepares to review basic wrestling techniques.
