Blades state champsTeam has no place to playEvery team dreams of winninga state championship. The Bloomington Blades obtained thisdream by winning the Class Astate hockey championship thisyear.According to junior teammember Jordan Walls, the goalthis year, as its been every year,was to win state. Last yearsteam was stopped short of theirquest by Columbus. But thisyears season was not withoutproblems.The closing of Frank-Southernice arena left the team with noplace to practice. They had totravel to Columbus and Indianapolis in order to practice. Thiswas certainly a downpoint ofthe season, said Walls.The Bloomington Soccer Clubis a team consisting of all playersunder the age of 19, who wishto play on a team. According tojunior David Biagioni, the players are organized in three divisions: a, b, and c. These divisions are based on age andability.In the fall, the team competesagainst other high school teamsaround the state. In the spring,the team competes in the USSF(United States Soccer Federation) circuit. They played soccerclubs from different cities, including Columbus, Noblesville,and Indianapolis. Those gamesprepared the team for theMcGuire cup competition during the summer.The soccer club providesthose interested in soccer anopportunity to play and gain experience, concluded Biagioni.While Scott Hollenback lookson from the ice, Blade LanceHarty takes over moving thepuck toward the goal.Blades player Scott Hollenbackskates after the puck while anopponent desperately tries tostop him.Ninety-eight, ninety-nine, onehundred ...
