Description: Combining copy and cutlinesPublications capture the spirit of SouthSome South students spent alot of time laying out andpasting up . . . these arent tanning terms, but words thatdescribe the work done by thepublications staff of The Optimist, Souths student paper,and the Gothic yearbook.The 1985-86 Gothic wassupposed to be a springdelivery book, which gave thestaff a lot of work to be donein a very short time space, according to advisor Dave Staver.Because the staff experienceddelays getting senior portraits,and lost about half the staff tofifth period release during thesecond semester, the book waschanged to a later delivery date,but sometimes quality takestime, said Co-Editor in ChiefAlanya Harter.A Classic Combinationwas chosen for the yearbooktheme.The theme shows that everyperson at South is part of aclassic combination, explainedDebbie Oclander, Co-Editor inSenior Debbie Oclanderconcentrates on a layout in the luxuryof her office; cement block walls,Miss Piggy, and all.OPTIMIST STAFF.
