There seems tobe at least one value that is fairlycommon—success, whether it be financiasuccess or social success.Unlike attitudes seen inearlier years, individualismis the key word of thedecade. It appears in everyaspect of life, but is mostapparent in the infashions and attitudes ofindividual people. In the80s, it is considered in to be out.Individualism is probably most noticeablein the fashion scene. Fashions range fromchains and mohawks to the preppy lookto neon colored clothing. Each person canfeel free to decide on the styles he or shewishes to wear. These styles vary with eachpersons taste.The attitudes and values of the 80sreflect our times. The places, the activites,and the people all constitute our times.
