Many activities part of health, P.E.The physical education and healthclasses were busy with many activitiesthroughout the year.All freshmen are required to take oneyear of P.E. According to Georgia Tidd,girls athletic director, the main focus ison lifetime sports such as swimming andtennis.Included in the program this year was abadminton ladder tournament and atrack and field meet. The P.E. classeswent bowling once a week for a semesterand also had the opportunity to go iceskating.The health classes kept active as well,focusing on how the body functions andreacts to certain stimuli. Emphasis wasplaced on drugs, alcohol, and tobacco.Ron Waicukauski, Monroe County prosecutor, conducted a special one-weekprogram on drugs and alcohol. He spokeon the legal ramifications and had different people come in and speak aboutthe abuses. Among the guest speakerswere Indiana University basketballplayers Steve Alford, Todd Meier, andCourtney Witte.
