Some students come in once aweek; others, only to arrange schedules,according to counselor Roy Whiteman.Purple Carpet Day was a new programsponsored by the counselors. This activitywas held to familiarize approximately 100new students with South.Jane Zebendon became the career coordinator for the Monroe County CommunitySchool Corp. She arranged many activitiesfor the English career education units.The library, considered by one sophomore as a good place to finish homeworkthat I didnt get done at home, was headedby Ruth Espenlaub.The main objective this year was, according to Espenlaub, to improve our careercenter. This year the center was moved towhat had been a conference room. Thischange was designed to complement thecareer units in English classes.TOP: COUNSELING STAFF.
