Description: Students, talents shinethrough when performingPerformances—the product of hard workand a chance for students to show their talent.Throughout the year the bands presentedalmosi. 30 concerts. The marching bandperformed at eight home football games. Atthe first game the crowd gave the band astanding ovation.Jazz band members dressed up as CountDracula, werewolfs, and other sorts of monsters for their Halloween concert. Severaldifferent props were used to create specialeffects, including black lights, smoke, anddry ice to achieve a fog effect.The holidays and spring were the busiesttimes for the BHSS choirs. During theChristmas season all three choirs (freshman, symphonic, and Madrigals) wereinvolved in a Christmas concert. The Madrigals performed for community groups atbanquets and holiday programs.TOP: MADRIGALS. THIRD ROW: Charles Frommer,John Gallman, Harold Woodley, DanWagle, Paul Wright, Mark Spera, TomWoodley.Music in Our Schools was a programspanning several nights and involving themusic programs of the Monroe CountyCommunity School Corp. middle and highschools. All the choirs and the orchestrawere involved.Mary Forester felt performing scenes,one-act plays, and portions of larger workswas good experience for her dramaclass. During each performance everymember of the class was cast in some role.Spotlight on South, a bi-weekly showon cable Channel 7, was planned, written,announced, and produced by the radio-TVclass. Each student had an opportunity tobe one of the two announcers.The class sponsored a ski trip to PaoliPeaks ski resort. Coverage of the trip was apart of Spotlight on South. Studentsinterviewed the resort management and skiers.98 Performances
