Description: Spirit highlights HomecomingA constant drizzle of rain could notdampen Panther spirits as faithful fanscheered South to a 15-13 victory over theSeymour Owls.Homecoming week brought with itmore Panther spirit than seen in thepast. Souths halls were decorated withposters, paintings, crepe paper, and balloons. Taxidermy the Owls, The Panthers Will SeeMore of the Owls, andSeymour Who? were several mottosseen during the week.Students and teachers dressed likefarmers and babies and wore sunglassesand ties, clashing outfits, and purple andwhite to boost the Panthers to victory.Each class prepared a float which wasdisplayed at the game. In the unofficialfloat contest, the junior class was victorious.Decorated cars, class floats, andexcited students paraded around thesquare the evening before the Homecoming game.The Madrigals, marching band, andPompettes lifed spirits by marchingthrough the halls before the pep session.Senior Allison Rogers was crownedHomecoming queen at halftime. SeniorTerri Zerface, juniors Jennifer Grossmanand Kelli Adkins, sophomores EmbraStrosnider and Beth Sims; and freshmanDebbie Royer and Sherri Kinser composed Rogers court.Rogers escort was Gary Sims. Otherescorts were Brad Bomba, MarkFletcher, Joe Landau, Bob Pugh, PatRagan, Dan Reuter, and Mike Zerface.Star Wars, this years movie craze,was the theme of the after-game dancesponsored by the cheerleaders and Pompettes.TOP RIGHT: Allison Rogers, the 1977Homecoming queen.LEFT: HOMECOMING CANDIDATESFRONT: Kelli Adkins, Allison RogersJennifer Grossman.
