#SB2K18During Spring Break,South students traveled bothin and out of the country toplaces cold and warm. Thosestudents came back with newmemories and stories to share.Over spring break, JuniorJenna Deckard escaped thecold, snowy weather inBloomington and traveled toHawaii. She stayed on theisland of Maui the whole timeand noted that it was reallybeautiful. Deckards favoritepart of vacation was goingon the Road to Hana, where(she) got to see rainbow treesand black sand beaches.Sophomore NicholasStright spent his Spring Breakvery differently. He traveled toBozeman, Montana in searchof more snow which he foundplenty of on the ski slopes. Onhis last, and favorite daythere, Stright said that itsnowed almost three feet onthe mountain.Unlike Stright, JuniorBridget Kennedy and herfamily wanted to gosomewhere warm and out ofthe country for spring break,so they ended up on thebeaches of Mexico wherethe weather was in the high80s and beautiful most of thetime. Kennedy shared thather favorite part (of the trip)was going to this little privateisland right off the coast ofCozumel and getting to layon the beach all day.SophomoreStudents travel around the worldduring Spring Break,The pool where Junior Jenna Deckard spentsome of her time while in Hawaii.photo courtesy of Jenna DeckardA sign in Whistler, Canada indicates thedifferent trails ahead and their difficulty.photo courtesy of Rachel MichelsonOver Preak, there were great skiingconditions in Bozeman, Montana.photo courtesy of Nicholas StrightIV. Instead, it wasmore thrilling as she spent hertime skiing in Canada.Despite the fact that it was alittle scary, Michelsonenjoyed her ski vacation. Itwas very cold but still fun tobe out on the slopes since itwas sunny. Michelson said shewould definitely go back to ski4*in Canada again. Whether itwas spent in the sun or snow,Spring Break providedstudents with some muchneeded time off of school tohave a little fun. While somecame back slightly burnt andothers came back pale asever, no matter where theytraveled, South studentsreturned from break refreshedand ready to learn.- Anneka Nelson Laird116Destiny Chambersfreshman |
