Description: GIRLS TENNISCaroline Rensi, 10in the past two years, BHSNGirls Tennis has brought homethe Sectional Title. This year, thepressure was on to win again.Theres a lot more pressure on sectional matches because we want thatsectional title. Since we had won the two previous years, there was pressure tocontinue that, Junior Isabel Flynn said. This year had fewer seniors on theteam. We lost a couple of our important senior varsity players from last year, sowe really had to step up this year, said Senior Lillian McAfee. So,what does theteam do to ensure a sectional win? One of the most important factorsfor winning sectionals is mental toughness, said McAfee. Tennis is abig mental sport, so definitely our attitudes were something we had toprepare before the match! The team also strategizes. We take notes of the teams as we play throughout theseason, like what their weaknesses are and how we can use ourstrengths best, said Flynn. When the big day came around, the girls lived up to their predecessors.Joy was the last one playing againstMartinsville, Flynn said. She played four hours, maybemore, and so she had a tough fight. When she won, we all ran over to her and hugged her, and a lot of uswere crying because we were so proud of her. We had just won sectionals!a title to^upholstory by Ellen Wlllibeyphotos by Sport Photos by Micheal
