Description:	BUSINESS PROFESSIONALS OF AMERICABONDING IN BPA »Junior Megan Factora, vicepresident of Business Professionalsof America, has been successfulsince joining the club sponsored byAdam Price.Last year, I made it to state withmy video productions team andwent to nationals and placed secondfor prepared speech, Factora said.For her main event, preparedspeech, she starts brainstorming amonth before the districtcompetition, and begins writing herspeech a few weeks before.Besides being an academic club,students do more than writespeeches and compete. BPA groupmembers to bond during events forthe organization.In a few years BPA has improvedclub leadership and attracted abroader range of students. The clubis more student led than it has beenin past years.This year was the first year westarted fund raising for competitionfunds. Ive also noticed that as BPAprogresses, the memberdemographic tends to get moredivers, Factora said.Factora said she has learned to bemore open and communicate herideas better.BPA sounded really boring to me.Once I joined, I learned that it was agreat way to improve not only youracademics, but also the way youinteract with people, Factora said.» by Olivia Pate» 72■
