Description:	£ast year at the Girls Basketball Conference, the team played a tough gameagainst Columbus North High School. Unfortunately that game resulted in a loss, but theteam received a second chance and was ableto defeat the Columbus North Bulldogs resulting in the first conference championship in, atleast, four years. For Seniors Pendah Jailow andMaureen Hirt, this was a big accomplishment forthem.Its always really good to get revenge on another team, Hirt said.With this win both Jailow and Hirt felt as ifit was a real confidence booster for the team.The fact that junior Shawnee Winningham hadtorn her knee up with only five games left in theseason, Jailow felt as if it really helped the teambring up their confidence by winning that game.It was a confidence booster for the wholeteam, to prove that we can still win a big gameeven without Shawnee being on the floor withus, Jailow said.Not only did they beat Columbus North withfor a conference win, they beat school rivalry,Bloomington South, during the regular season.With it being their last year, Jailow and Hirtboth have these wins as great memories of theirsenior year. Over the years they stated that theyhave learned a lot of things. Hirt said she learnedhow to work together on the court and how tosimply work together in harmony. Jailow said thatshe learned better leadership skills and how tobe more vocal.
