It started fouryears ago, and has grown ever since.Senior Siarra Bazler has been a member fortwo years.This year, with the advent of a Greek class atNorth, Latin Club evolved into Classics Club inorder to include both groups, Bazler said.It has grown to include a large chunk of theforeign language wings students.As members of the Classics Club, studentsare able to learn new things while still beingable to spend some social time. SophomoreAbby Saccone joined last year.I get to hang out with friends and learn aboutan ancient culture and language, Sacconesaid.Junior Stephen Kroll loves Latin Day the best.We always have a Latin Day with the LatinClub members of South each year. We eat, playgames, and its very fun, Kroll said.The thing theyre all most excited about is atrip they have been planning all year.Over spring break, the group of Classicsstudents will go to Greece. While abroad, theywill be able to see the art and ruins that theyvediscussed and experience the modern cultureas well.Im beyond excited for this trip, Bazler said.I love traveling, but Ive never been out of thecountry, and I have always wanted to travel toGreece because my great grandfather emigrated from there. I cant imagine better plansfor spring break.This trip gives a lot of students a chance toexperience something new. Sophomore AsiaNewlin-Blackwell is also looking forward to it.I am very excited, Newlin-Blackwell said.This is, most likely, a once in a lifetime opportunity, and I get to spend it with my good friends.
