Beane is also on thevarsity basketball team and playedquaterback his freshman year.I had a great year, and I feel that Iimproved a lot.Logan White, freshman (pictured right)iofa HigginsCascades golf course was in full bloom for the2006 spring boys golf season. The team consistedof 12 players and went 6-3 in match play andfinished second in sectionals.Practices started in March and the seasonwrapped up in June with a regionals appearance.Many of the team members practice year-roundeither on vacation, or here in town when theweather is nice. Many players play at Cascadeson their own time, but also at other golf coursesnear by such as Bloomingtons Country Club.The only senior, Matt Brown, led the team thisyear. Brown has been a part of the golf team allfour years of high school.I first seriously started playing golf sophomoreyear, but just as a weekend sport, Brown said.Brown said he really enjoys playing in thesummer when he is involved in tournaments. Inthe upcoming summer, Brown is involved in agolf tour sponsored by Mountain Dew and lastyear he finished 16lh.Brown takes golf seriously but also likes to havea good time. He enjoys playing in his free time,especially during the summer.Next year Brown is sure he is going to collegebut has yet to decide where. I want to go to either Butler or IU, but Im notsure if golf is in my college future, Brown said.In college Brown wants to study business, andhopefully go on to a career in that field. Even ifhe doesnt play golf in college, Brown is sure thatgolf will always be a part of his life.Brown is not the only one that lead Norths golfteam. He had help from freshman Casey Deal,sophomore Logan Hoke, and junior LeviRobertson to name a few.This year I was really impressed because alot of underclassman really stepped up for theteam, said Brown.Story by Kody Higgins and Lindsay ChesakLone LeaderBoys Golf 97
