Soto is the managingeditor and Wang is layout editor. Idrather readaboutsports thanlythingelse.-Sophomore Daniel JacksonWhen the 2005-2006 school year began, sodid a new era in Bloomington North Newspaper.Janna Brancolini graduated last year, leaving avacancy at the position of newspaper editor inchief. Newspaper adviser Mr. Ryan Guntermanchose senior Zach Rozycki to fill the position.(Rozycki) is experienced, and he does reallywell with people, Gunterman said. Guntermanalso said Rozycki is honest, which is a necessaryquality to be editor.Students in newspaper have had to adapt to anew editor with a new approach. Rozycki doesthings differently from Brancolini, according tosome of the newspaper staff.Both have different styles, junior NicoBrancolini and younger brother of JannaBrancolini said. (Janna) was more hands off. Sheutilized her managers and editors. Zach is moreapproachable.Sophomore Elizabeth Munroe appreciates that(Rozycki) answers all of her questionsAlso, Rozycki has had to adapt to the new role.He knew there would be differences when hetook over as editor and expected a lot more workand responsibility.You get yelled at a lot more, Rozycki said.If there is something wrong, people complain toyou and expect you to be able to fix it.Being in charge of the newspaper has presentedRozycki with several problems.We have a lot of new kids, Rozycki said.There are a lot of varying levels of experience,and some kids know how to do things that othersdo not.Amidst the changes and challenges, Rozyckistill has ideas to improve the newspaper and gainexposure.(Rozycki) has very good ideas, Munroe said.He is planning on putting a newspaper dispenserdowntown.The newspaper dispenser would allow a biggeraudience to read the North Star, and give thecommunity an insight to the current events atBloomington High School North.Story by Gunner Hutchins and Ruby KohlerNew Directions34 Newspaper
