Boys TennisThe 2002 boys tennis team had an unforgettable season. The Cougars undefeated record of 17-0 in theregular season earned the team the #1 ranking in the state-the first in Bloomington North history. The teamclaimed the sectional title with a win over Martinsville, and defeated Owen Valley in the first round of regionals.The season ended, however, with a tragic loss toCenter Grove in the regional final. The teamfinished with a record of 21-1, led in part by #1singles player K.J. Stewart.The Cougar boys were led by a powerfulsenior class, including All-State Singles PlayerAlex Deckard, and All-State Honorable Mentionaward winners Joel Seedman, Allen Patel, andJordan Beasley. The group of seniors includingKiran Parkhe and Josh Paul brought North tennisto its highest ranking in school history, and theylaid the ground work for future accomplishments,said coach Andy Hodson. The senior group willbe greatly missed.The season was about more than winningor losing, says senior Alex Deckard.
