At the Heart of NorthThe Bloomington NorthLibrary offers a way for someto get away from the regularroutine of classroom work andgo to a more relaxed environment. In other words, manygo to the library to hang out! While in the library thereare a plethora of things ofwhich people engage themselves. Many talk to friendsand discuss the latest gossip.Others opt to study or do research for a project. A number of people surf the internetlooking up subjects such asmusic, basketball, and a variety of other subjects. No matter how strong your intentionof studying may be, you almost always end up talkingwith a friend. Then before youknow it the entire 85 minuteshas gone by, and you havenothing to show for it.Quite often teachers bringclasses to the library to givetheir students a change of routine. Also, they give them theopportunity to take advantageof the resources the library hasto offer. Just like every otherlibrary, ours offers students awide selections of books, magazines, newspapers, movies, and reference materials. In addition, the BHSN libraryhas a television, where peoplewatch the news, a college andcareer resource center, twocomputer programs that aid incollege searches, encyclopedias on CD., a magazine online program, and many computers specifically designed forword processing. One of the greatest, overall, attributes of the library isthe help that students receivethere. Whether it is found in abook, on computer, by a student library aide, or from Mr.Marron and Mrs. Loser, helpcan always be found in thelibrary.Everyone can find reliefwithin the walls of the BHSNlibrary. It is a comfortable, spacious place away from thecrowded halls of North. Allare welcome to sit and study, talk (quietly), or read...that isthe purpose of thelibrary...right?The North library is an inviting, peaceful and productive retreat for students wishing to study.Kit Boulding and BrettBobzien seempleased to find a quietcorner and do theirstudying on the floor.84!__£ |
