V-Ball Has Ups, DownsA fter losing six seniorsand three starters tograduation, this yearsvolleyball team was inneed of leadership andteamwork. Seniors LeslieBaldwin and Kathie Mc-Claren along with juniorKristin Lill were the onlyreturning letter winnersfrom last years Sectionalchampionship team. TheCougars were also underthe helm of first yearcoach, Christa Matter.Coach Matters youthfulenthusiasm and positiveattitude helped to bringthe team closer together.The season was like aroller coaster ride with inconsistent play and inexperienced players at thevarsity level. The seasonwas highlighted duringSectionals with an emotional win over South anda victory over a strongOwen Valley team beforea loss to Edgewood inthe championship game.This years MaroonAward winner was LeslieBaldwin.
