They expected towin at least four gamesthis year, and be verycompetitive in the remaining four games. Theteams they expected tobeat were: Shelbyville,Rushville, Mooresville,and Edgewood. Theybeat Rushville, with ashot out of 12-0. For theother three teams, bigplays seemed to alwayshurt the Cougars.For the rest of the season, the Cougars wouldget a few touchdowns,they then would self-destruct. With penalties,interceptions, and fumbles, something alwaysseemed to go wrong.The best game all year,other than the Rushvillevictory, was the Martinsville game. The Cougarsplayed tough all fourquarters with the finalscore reading 14-21, surprising all. The statebound Artesins were figured to blow us out. TheCougars never gave up,and their last gamecame, once again, inMadison during sectionalplay. |
