Cheerleaders Twist & Shout!The 1986-87 Cheerleading squadsshowed a lot of new style under thedirection of sponsor Betsy Sheuth. Allthree squads worked hard throughoutthe summer and school year on newroutines and impressive stunts forCougar fans.Their practices started last spring inpreparation for the NationalCheerleaders Association camp last July.As a school, all three squads received thehighlyv coveted Spirit Stick each night ofthe camp, several Superior ratings duringcompetition, and they were runner-upsfor the Most Spirited Squad award. Thevarsity also received a nomination for theAward of Excellence which goes to thebest squad at the camp.Senior Amy McCann and juniorChristie Skirvin were two finalists out of11 chosen for the All AmericanCheerleader award which is given to onecheerleader who showed consistent spiritVarsity Cheerleaders, Row 1: Jenny Janson, Nikki Hipskind, Dahlia Anderson, Christie Skirvin,Missy Miller.
