Optimist Keeps Students InformedEDITOR-IN-CHIEF Peggy Pruett and her diligentstaff performed the duties of publishing a schoolnewspaper. The main objective of the 1968-1969editions of the Optimist was to feature in eachissue at least one thing of interest to each student.The editors sought story possibilities in every phaseof school life.The mechanical staff pasted up copy, while thebusiness staff visited local merchants in hope ofselling advertisements.Kimberly Schmalz and Beth Hardwick wrote andproduced a radio program featuring school news,which was given at 7:45 on Thursday eveningsfrom the local radio station WTTS. The News Bureau had four reporters who reported BHS newsto the two local newspapers.TOP LEFT ... REPORTERS ...
