Description: As preachers wives they bid adieu.And to the class farewell,Theyre gone, true friends, from me and you,Winnie, Zelpha and Nell.In Chinas dark and distant pass,Ruth Telfer takes her place,As missionary from Senior class,To teach the heathen race.The next are Avery and Pfrimmer:A glad story wrought from fate,They are seen in Senate chamber,Senators from Hoosier State.Jim Baker finds that lifes worth while.A good man wont stay down.He turns to be a man of style,A sport of much renown.Hark! they are gone, can they be lost?Swept by an avalanche,On matrimonial sea theyre tost,Alta, Odessa and Blanche.Ralph Wellons lady fussing some.He is the Kandy Kid:And soon the wedding day will come;Hell give us all a bid.Miss Bowman in proprietyThus sees there is a chance;And goes into society,The Senior queen of France.In Sousas Band a few are found.In happy rapturous glee.Their names are heard the world around:McDaniels, Carmichael and Lee.Miss Summers many months agoSaid Walter must be won;And now statistics seem to show‘Tis Myrtle Eagleson.Then Peral Romizer takes a trip.She travels here and there,But soon locates that life long ship,She found a millionaire.The Red Cross has our helping hand.We send a few abroad.‘Tis they who are in great demand:Temple, Clara and Maud.We’re sure that Hassal does not know,That Governor he will be;For if he did there’d be no showFor fools like you and me.With country life shes satisfied.You cannot blame her much.With none Ruth Smith will be allied,And ever more as such.I didnt ask; they didnt say;I never knew till now:Y. M. girls they wish to stay,The three whose name are Howe.Miss Barker makes a real good boss,And so does Edna Brown.No doubt well greatly feel the loss,When “leap year comes around.The Campbell girls are next to bat;They’re right there with the goods.They spend their lives as teachers atSt. Marys of The Woods...Bill Morris is that trusty lad;Drinks nothing more than pop.Hes got a job, Im sure you’re glad,As Bloomingtons best cop.Red Rogers seeks the butcher trade,And makes the business go.He lays the others in the shadeBy twenty blocks or so.Soon Harry Alexander quits.Some baseball he will play;And all the town goes wild with fitsTo see the boy in gray.Kate Dillman and Miss CurryStenographers will be.Although they strut and worry,They’re good as good can be.A husky boy thats full of fun,As smart at Socrates,‘Tis Elbert Reeves, who soon will run,The best of all trustees.For soon well be departed;Each life will take it’s way;Although we’re only started,Well meet some other day.When Elmer Sherfey studies art,Twill be at old Berlin;And with Ben Greet hell take a partUpon a violin.So Mary Jack has disappeared;And much to our regret,Has left the class cold and revered,Shes married, dont you bet?Miss Jeffry takes Psychology,Explains the way and why,Then mastered in SparkologyAnd passed all others by.Earle Huffman likes the Latin stuntsTo tell how Ceasar won;And through the world he hunts and huntsTo be the best or none.Though last, not least, old faithful friend,Your life with us was brief.If Weeden Koontz has gained his end,Hell be his own lifes chief.For soon well be departed;Each life will take its way;Although we’re only started,Well meet some other day.Farewell to you, Old Gold and Blue!And Class ’09, to thee!The Pansy is the flower so true!Behold our prophecy!-- HARRY BOTTS, ‘0925
