Musical Groups Present ConcertsThe Varsity Band, under the direction of Mr.Donald Traub, participated in many activities thisyear. Displaying school spirit, the band performedat the home football games during the half-times.For the first time this year a pep band was organized to play at each home basketball game. Theirother activities included school convocations, concerts, parades, and participating in the I.U. bandday. In preparing for their trip expenses this yearto Chicago, the band sold $6,000 worth of fruitcakes.In a joint concert during the Christmas season,the band, Varsity Choir and Madrigals, directedby Mrs. -Rebecca Walsh, and the band presented aselection of seasonal songs.The choir made numerous appearances throughout the year including performances at convocations, churches, and concerts with other choirs.Another project which the choir presented was themusical entitled How the West Was Won. TheMadrigals were composed of sixteen students whoperformed at convocations, club organizations, andchurches in the area. The Madrigals and StageBand gave joint concerts throughout the year.Under the direction of Mr. Donald Neal, theschool orchestra presented various concerts, as didthe other musical groups of the school.CHOIR ...
