Those words strike a familiar note to the ears ofVarsity Band members. During marching season they counted the numberof steps between yard lines. In concert formation they counted beats andmeasures. And during the most profitable season, money-wise, the bandmembers sold 3681 pounds of fruit cakes to use toward the purchase of newuniforms in the future.The band, smaller this year than usual, carried on many activities. Itattended IU Band Day, marched in the Halloween Parade, Memorial DayParade, and the Armistice Day Parade.
